Why does Harry drop the Resurrection Stone in ‘Deathly Hallows?’

When it comes to the trillion mysteries stored within the magical world of Harry Potter, almost all have been answered in the novels and films or else solved by its renowned author, J.K. Rowling. That said, there are still some questions that have maintained their secret status such that even the cinematic adaptations of the books didn’t try to solve them. Undoubtedly, one of the biggest baffling questions of all time centers around why on earth Harry dropped the Resurrection Stone in the Forbidden Forest.

The event takes place towards the end of the last book and film in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where Harry decides to sacrifice himself to kill Voldemort’s Horcrux inside him and save everyone’s lives. While walking through the Forbidden Forest (on his way to the Dark Lord), Harry cracks Dumbeldore’s code for unsealing the Golden Snitch and manages to get the Resurrection Stone stored inside it.

Rachel Zegler says her ‘Snow White’ critics need to be loved

Rachel Zegler has decided not to fight fire with fire when it comes to those criticizing her casting in Disney’s upcoming Snow White remake, as the West Side Story star says these people need to be “loved in the right direction.” Following her Golden Globe-winning performance in Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed musical, Zegler is set to be a regular on our screens from now on, with two major roles already lined up.

In addition to a part in upcoming DC sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Zegler has snagged the title role in Disney’s next big live-action reimagining, which will bring the studio’s very first picture into the 2020s. To do that, Disney elected to cast its first-ever Latina princess. Unfortunately, as is frustratingly inevitable in cases like this one, some folks online got very angry over Zegler’s hiring.

A dismal psychological thriller with unlikely origins snaps on Netflix

Having built himself a billion-dollar empire, there’s absolutely no doubt that Tyler Perry is one of the most successful filmmakers in the industry, even if the overwhelming majority of his movies tend to be panned by critics.

For the most part, the multi-hyphenate filmmaker sticks to what he knows best; namely, either broad comedies or family dramas boasting talented ensembles, although the terrifying specter of Madea can almost always lurking around the next corner, regardless of what he’s cooking up.

Lin-Manuel Miranda figured out Andrew Garfield was in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

The spoliers in Spider-Man: No Way Home were perhaps Marvel Studios’ worst kept secret, what with details about the film’s script leaking months before it made to the theaters. One such revelation was Andrew Garfield’s presence in the MCU film. But while the actor deserves an Oscar just for how vehemently he denied his involvement leading up to the film’s release, he failed to maintain his savvy conversation tactics with Lin-Manuel Miranda who figured out that he was making a comeback as the webbed slinger months before Spider-Man 3’s theatrical debut. 

While rumors of Andrew Garfield’s involvement in the film were swirling in 2021, the actor was busy shooting for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s biographical music drama, Tick, Tick… Boom! Thus, the day it leaked for the first time that he has also joined Spider-Man: No Way Home as the Peter Parker from an alternate universe, the Silence star was filming with the director. Though Garfield had been expertly sidestepped the questions of the media, when Miranda asked him, he failed to maintain his cool-as-a-cucumber status.

The Daily Wire’s controversial first movie is a multi-platform streaming hit

On a surface level, there’s really no need for conservative news website and media conglomerate The Daily Wire to get into the movie business, but they’re doing it anyway, whether you like it or not.

The outfit’s first original feature film Shut In is releasing next month, with Gina Carano’s Terror on the Prairie next up, but the first film to be distributed by The Daily Wire was Kyle Rankin’s Run Hide Fight, which came and went without much fanfare at all in January of last year.

‘Spider-Verse’ producers address potential Tom Holland and Zendaya cameos

Based on the critical and commercial response to Spider-Man: No Way Home, audiences clearly can’t get enough of seeing Tom Holland and Zendaya lend their talents to a multiversal web-slinging blockbuster, and there just so happens to be another two of them on the way.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and its sequel are coming to theaters between now and the end of 2023, looking to raise a bar that was set very high by the Academy Award-winning and acclaimed first installment. All of the stops will need to be pulled out, then, but can we expect the live-action Peter Parker and MJ to swing by?

One of last year’s finest hidden gems slices through the streaming charts

Due to the onset of the pandemic, the VOD market has been flooded by more titles than ever before, as studios and production companies fled from the big screen in their droves. One of the downsides is that plenty of fantastic features may have slipped under the radar, and we can definitely count Till Death among them.

The action/thriller/horror/home invasion hybrid was released digitally in July of last year, before making its way to Netflix a couple of months later, but the movie doesn’t get anywhere near as much praise as it should, despite holding an impressive 89% Rotten Tomatoes score.
