Courteney Cox Says She Can’t Wait To See Ghostface Again In Scream 5

Courteney Cox Says She Can’t Wait To See Ghostface Again In Scream 5

Today we got some big news that horror fans had been waiting on – Courteney Cox has officially signed up for Scream 5The Friends star has appeared in all four previous movies in the franchise as bitchy reporter Gale Weathers, so it wouldn’t have been a Scream film without her. And the actress can’t wait to get back to Woodsboro to face off against Ghostface – or whoever’s under the mask this time – once again.

So said Cox in her latest Instagram post. Following the announcement of her return, the star took to social media to share a video of Ghostface’s mask with the iconic Scream theme playing over the top. “I can’t wait to see this face again,” reads a blood-red caption after a few moments.

Cox is the second cast member to sign up to the new Scream flick, as produced Spyglass Entertainment and distributed by Paramount. Back in May, her ex-husband David Arquette joined the project to reprise his role as Sheriff Dewey Riley. Obviously, the one we’re all waiting on now is Neve Campbell. Campbell, Cox and Arquette have been with the saga since the beginning, with Campbell’s Sidney Prescott at the heart of it. So, it would be a blow if she didn’t come back this time.

Thankfully, we know that the actress is in talks and she had spoken about getting along with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are taking over the reins of the series from the late, great Wes Craven. As such, we’ve got our fingers crossed it all works out.

Scream 5 is intending to start shooting this fall in North Carolina, ahead of it hitting cinemas sometime in 2021. Although, given the current state of the world, that could easily change.

Muppets Now is a six-episode unscripted series from everyone’s favorite parade of puppet performers, with each instalment broken up into three segments – a game show, a cooking show and a talk show – with different celebrity guests popping by every week, including Seth Rogen, RuPaul and Linda Cardellini. It’s also the first new live-action Muppets production from Disney since the ill-conceived The Muppets mockumentary series for mature audiences in 2015.

Elsewhere, you’ve got the latest episodes of Disney Family Sundays, One Day at Disney and both seasons of Marvel Funko‘s animated shorts. Of course, Black is King will no doubt go down as the most impactful of Disney Plus‘ releases today, but let us know what you’re planning on watching tonight in the comments section below.

Netflix Just Added 6 New Movies/TV Shows In Time For The Weekend

Netflix Just Added 6 New Movies/TV Shows In Time For The Weekend

Today marks the end of the month and therefore the final content drop from Netflix for July, but it’s certainly been an excellent 31 days to be a subscriber to the service. This month has brought with it big movies like Million Dollar Baby, Patriots Day, Paranormal Activity and The Karate Kid trilogy alongside the addition of new shows like Warrior Nun and Cursed – the latter of which is now the platform’s top scripted series.

But as great as all of that has been, many subscribers have been waiting for this day to see the return of a very popular show that took the world by storm when it debuted last year. Of course, that show is The Umbrella Academy, and all ten episodes of its second season are available right now. The sophomore entry is already doing exceptionally well, too, sitting at an impressive 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The second season of the series deals with the fallout of last year’s finale where the superhero siblings failed to prevent the apocalypse but managed to escape at the last moment via a time jump. Unfortunately for them, the jump landed them all around Dallas, Texas across a three year period, leading to them being forced to find a way to reconnect and finally save the world.

If that’s not your thing, though, here’s the full list of what’s launching on Netflix today:

Get Even (Season 1) – A British thriller series.
Latte & the Magic Waterstone – An animated feature.
Seriously Single – An African comedy.
The Speed Cubers – A short documentary.
The Umbrella Academy (Season 2) – A popular superhero series.
Vis a vis: El Oasis (Locked Up) (Season 1) – A prison drama.

Although this is the final drop for Netflix in July, you can head through here to see what to expect on the platform throughout August. And, as always, be sure to keep it tuned for further updates on what content’s coming to all of your favorite streaming services in the future.
