Marvel fans are sharing what most annoys them about the MCU

It’s hard to argue that the MCU is the most popular franchise in the world right now. Marvel Studios just keeps on knocking out hit movies, and now TV shows, one after the other. But obviously, you can’t please everyone all of the time — there are infamous moments, characters, twists and more that are known to have proven controversial with audiences. So what is it that most annoys Marvel fans about the MCU?

That’s what folks have been discussing over on the r/MarvelStudios subreddit lately. Reddit user u/SpacingOutStudios got the ball rolling by sharing a personal pet peeve: the decision to introduce the past Gamora in Avengers: Endgame, which has killed their enthusiasm for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Netflix’s Squid Game may have unexpectedly become the streaming giant’s biggest series launch of all time, reaching 142 million homes worldwide and reportedly expected to rake in $900 million for the company, but that doesn’t mean a second season of the show has gotten the official green light⏤at least not yet.

This bit of news may come as a surprise to fans of the show, as a follow-up season was seemingly previously confirmed by its creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk.

Netflix confirms live-action ‘Resident Evil’ series for 2022 release

Netflix’s live-action Resident Evil series has been pushed to the background for the time being, with the focus instead falling on the animated Infinite Darkness and Johannes Roberts’ very recent reboot Welcome to Raccoon City.

Unfortunately, the latter flopped at the box office this past weekend after failing to even come within touching distance of $10 million across the five-day holiday frame, so if sequels end up falling by the wayside as a result, then the coast is clear for the episodic spin on the console classic to return to center stage.

A Ryan Reynolds rom-com is flying high on Disney Plus

We all know Ryan Reynolds; actor, producer, arch-nemesis of Hugh Jackman, gin magnate, mobile service provider, soccer team co-owner, director of Match Group and award-winning advertising executive to name just a few of his accomplishments, but his road to the top wasn’t easy.

Reynolds had been toiling away for decades before finally clambering to the summit of the Hollywood mountaintop, with the unstoppable success of Deadpool pushing him over the line. Prior to that, the highest-grossing live-action movie of his entire career was the dismal X-Men Origins: Wolverine, ironically his first time playing Wade Wilson.

Television enthusiasts are currently enjoying the 41st season of the long-running, fan-favorite reality show Survivor. The series puts die-hard contestants up against the elements as they’re stranded on an island and forced to try to outplay, outwit, and outlast the competition.

Survivor debuted on CBS to excited audiences on May 31, 2000, and the first taste of the series was unlike anything viewers had ever seen. Contestants weren’t just put through a series of mental, physical, and emotional challenges⏤they were genuinely forced to survive against the elements. Only certain teams received special items for shelter while others were given nothing. Some competitions gave teams provisions while others received not a single morsel.

Henry Cavill shares ‘The Witcher’ selfie as Geralt from ‘private collection’

Henry Cavil took to Instagram Tuesday to share a selfie of himself as Geralt of Rivia better known as the titular character in Netflix’s TV series The Witcher.

The show, which has a second season slated to hit the streaming service next month, promises more monster-hunting fun from the Kaer Morhen native. But it won’t be a cakewalk, as evidenced by a recent clip of the series, in which Geralt gets creamed by a giant centipede-like creature with a skull for a face, known as a Myriapod.

We can now add Fandango to that list after it’s been reported that No Way Home is the fastest-selling and most popular title since Avengers: Endgame, which, lest we forget, went on to score an eye-watering domestic opening of $357 million two years ago.

Mahershala says he has to earn his place as the new Blade

When you think of Blade, it wouldn’t be unfair to suggest that rapper-turned-actor Sticky Fingaz isn’t the first name that comes to mind. Hell, there’s no doubt plenty of people to have seen the entire Wesley Snipes trilogy wouldn’t even be aware of the TV show that lasted for a single season before taking a stake through the heart.

Fans were shocked when Mahershala Ali was trotted on stage at 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con to announce that the Daywalker was being rebooted as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and if you’re looking for someone capable of stepping into Snipes’ ass-kicking shoes, then a two-time Academy Award winner isn’t a bad place to start.

‘Death Note’ character used to encourage voting in this recent election

‘Death Note’ character used to encourage voting in this recent election

It seems that anime and politics are continuing to go hand in hand with each other. Earlier this month, Rep. Paul A. Gosar (R-Ariz.) was censured over an edit of Attack on Titan that involved President Joe Biden and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y). A bit more recently, Kanji Yamanouchi, Ambassador and Consul General of Japan in New York, took to social media to shred on guitar to Demon Slayer’s opening song to welcome the recent Anime NYC convention.

Now, it looks like it’s time to bring Death Note into the mix. The Observatorio Democrático Juventud Honduras (Democratic Youth Observatory Honduras) NGO posted an ad featuring Light Yagami from the series to encourage people to vote in Honduras’ presidential election. The ad, which was published to the organization’s Facebook page, reads: “The Power Is In Your Hands.”

Thus, anime merchandise has become somewhat of a trending commodity for people trying to keep up with the latest in pop culture, prompting many to run to online stores to purchase items plastered with the faces of today’s biggest anime stars.

Of all the anime to take over the West in recent years, Naruto has had one of the longest and most popular influences on American culture. 5 horror movies that are so bad, they’re good

Horror movies can inspire true terror in their audiences, but at other times they can inspire true laughter. “So bad they’re good” horror is one of my guilty pleasures, and here are 5 great suggestions to get you laughing like a madman.

Elves (1989)

Mall Santa Dan Haggerty is down on his luck when he discovers a conspiracy around Nazi scientists creating the Aryan master race…of demon Christmas elves. If that doesn’t sound like an insanely entertaining idea, I don’t know what is. Such iconic lines include a beleaguered wife telling her husband “You and your goddamn elves, I’m sick of it!” and “What are you, a goddamn Nazi or something? Is that your elf?”
