Wesley Snipes Reportedly Eyed For Multiversal MCU Cameo As Blade

The Season 1 finale of Loki has rewritten the rules of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know them, with the multiverse finally in play and evidently already having a major impact after Tom Hiddleston’s trickster emerged from the Citadel at the End of Time in a completely different reality to the one that he’d entered with Sylvie.

That means that nothing can be ruled out in terms of alternate timelines, surprise cameos and alternate versions of established heroes, all of which we’ve heard in all sorts of guises in regards to virtually every notable MCU character under the sun. We’ve now heard from our sources – the same ones who told us War Machine was getting his own Disney Plus series long before Armor Wars was announced – that Wesley Snipes’ Blade could be one of them.

Cinema’s original Daywalker has been linked with a guest spot already on more than one occasion, and the actor himself admitted he wouldn’t turn down an offer should Kevin Feige come knocking on his door, but the information we’ve heard places him more as a multiversal nod and a wink than a full-fledged supporting player in either Mahershala Ali’s reboot or another MCU project.

After all, vampires and the multiverse are both now official canon, so there’s no reason why we can’t see a timeline where Snipes’ Blade is still slicing and dicing his way through hordes of the undead, even if only for a moment or so. Now that Loki has completely changed the game, nothing can be ruled in or out, and that even extends to the prospect of having the MCU reference previous iterations of well-known favorites across Phase Four and beyond.
