Avengers: Endgame Featurette Shows Off New BTS Footage

Avengers: Endgame still feels like a very recent film to me (I guess given that it was re-released in theaters last weekend, it technically is). But it seems that its run is finally coming to an end, which will neatly coincide with its debut on Digital HD on July 30th (with the Blu-ray following on August 13th).

We already know what special features will be included in the home release, with the most interesting items for me being a look at how the Russos approached the simultaneous production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the six deleted scenes, the directors’ commentary and, of course, the deep dive into how ‘Bro Thor’ was created.

It sounds like a comprehensive package for those fascinated in how a project with so many moving parts came together, and we now have a tease of some of the footage we can expect.

Watching any of the special features for MCU films cements that the actors have a genuine emotional commitment to this universe. Just look at Mark Ruffalo talking about their pride and sadness when they realized that things are coming to end, Chris Hemsworth explaining the casts’ connection to one another having spent so many years of their lives working together, or Chris Evans speaking about the emotion hitting him when he finally realizes he’s shot his last scene as Steve Rogers. Is.. is this room a little dusty or is it just me?

I doubt we’ll see a film like Avengers: Endgame for a long time, if ever. The MCU has been a unique cinematic achievement, something proven by so many rival cinematic universes tripping over their own feet. With Phase 4 set to be a departure from everything we’ve known to date, now is a great time to smell the roses and reflect on all the great moments, fun characters and excitement that Marvel Studios have provided over the last 11 years.
