Tom Holland Wants A Spider-Man And Doctor Strange Team-Up Movie

Mavel’s definitely made the most of having Spider-Man in the MCU over his past five movies, with Tom Holland’s wallcrawler rubbing shoulders with pretty much all of the Avengers by now. The actor would still like to do more with at least one of them, though: Doctor Strange. Spidey teamed up with the Sorcerer Supreme back in Avengers: Infinity War, but Holland thinks there’s more to be explored in this unlikely dynamic.

While speaking to CinemaBlend ahead of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Holland explained why he thinks Peter Parker and Stephen Strange could work so well as a team, as the kid who loves science would have to come to grips with the magic man.

“I’m really wanting to do a team-up with Doctor Strange, because we’re both New Yorkers and I just really like the idea of a science guy being teamed up with a guy who does magic, because it totally contradicts everything he knows. And I like the idea that there is real science that Peter Parker talks about, and then there’s Doctor Strange gibberish, where he’s like ‘The time rift and the thing and the thing.’ So it’s kind of fun.”

As shown in Infinity War, there’s also the great contrast of personalities, as the dour Strange doesn’t seem to know what to make of a peppy kid like Peter. Then there’s Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch’s hilarious chemistry. There’s a reason Marvel paired the two up during the press tour for that movie, so that Cumberbatch could keep Holland in check and stop him from spoiling anything.

Strange has so far turned up in Thor: Ragnarok as well as meeting up with other heroes in the Avengers movies, so fingers crossed he might show up in, say, Spider-Man 3. Or maybe he could have a cameo in Doctor Strange 2For the moment, though, Peter’s got enough superhero shenanigans on his plate in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Not only will Nick Fury hijack his summer vacation, but there’s a new hero on the block in the form of Mysterio to contend with.
