Could 2019 be the best yet, for Star Wars fans? It certainly has the potential to be so, what with film, TV and video games all getting in on the act with their own respective contributions, but those exciting times remain a ways off. Practising patience is absurdly difficult, of course, and with the better part of six months still to go until the fun truly begins, lovers of all things hailing from a Galaxy Far, Far Away need a stop-gap to keep their minds occupied.
Thankfully, having evolved from grassroots to the full-blown commemorative occasion it is today, May The 4th is almost upon us, bringing with it an abundance of promotional deals and offers. No doubt more will follow over the next 24 hours, but Microsoft has gotten an early lead with its own procession of discounts, slashing the price of several major Star Wars titles for Xbox One owners.
In order to save you the trouble of trawling through endless product pages looking for the best deals, we’ve cherry-picked a few and highlighted them below for your viewing pleasure.
- LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens – $10.00
- LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Deluxe Edition) – $15.00
- Star Wars Battlefront (Ultimate Edition) – $5.00
- Star Wars Battlefront II – $7.50
At less than two years old, access to Star Wars Battlefront II for less than $10 is nothing short of an absolute bargain. DICE’s sequel was besieged by criticism over its heavy-handed approach to microtransactions and loot boxes, but publisher EA has since taken steps to reduce their prevalence, the end result being a rock-solid team shooter. If you’d rather start from the beginning, however, the original reboot can be yours for half the price. Alternatively, you could save yourself a few bucks and go for the Star Wars Battlefront: Hoth Bundle, which contains both games as well as several additional goodies for less than $10.
All of the deals above are available for US, UK and Australian customers and end early next week, so you’ve got plenty of time to make a decision. Whatever choice you shoot for, here’s hoping it manages to tide you over until Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order‘s launch later this year.
