It’s not too much of a stretch to say that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is the beating heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And we’re pleased to report that RDJ brings his A-game to Avengers: Endgame, delivering a performance worthy of an MCU event movie. In the interest of safeguarding the film’s plot and its many twists and turns, we’ll refrain from revealing too much, too soon; instead, we’ll point you in the direction of RDJ’s latest Instagram post, which features a heartfelt ‘thank you’ message to the Marvel franchise, its fans, and the cast and crew responsible for what is undoubtedly an unprecedented movie saga.
There’s never been an interconnected film series quite like the MCU, and Marvel Studios’ achievement is unlikely to be replicated anytime soon. So let’s bask in the aura of Avengers: Endgame, a fitting conclusion to a story that began with Tony Stark forging his legacy in that far-flung cave.
#tbt @avengers Thanx to everyone.. family, friends, fans, cast and crew… #loveyou #3000 #mcu #thankyou #TeamStark

Pretty cool, eh? This actually appears to be an old photo of RDJ standing next to Jimmy Rich, a crew member whose credits span Sherlock Holmes, Infinity War, and the newly-released Avengers: Endgame. Suffice it to say, Rich and Downey Jr. are pretty tight, so it’s only fitting that the pair are pictured here in Avengers HQ.
Today’s the day, folks. Avengers: Endgame is playing across the globe, and it’s already racked up a $365 million gross – $60 million of which was made in North America, after the Marvel pic set a new record for Thursday previews, easily surpassing the record previously held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
