Now that spring has sprung, our favorite TV shows will roll out their season finales before you know it. In the case of The CW’s prime time dramas, most of them have about a handful of episodes to go before the summer hiatus. So, too, does Arrow, as five more adventures are yet to be added to season 7’s tally.
As you may have figured, the cast and crew are given some generous lead-in time so that the show may go through the editing process, visual effects can be added, and the rest of that post-production magic can happen before anything make its way into our living rooms. From the sound of it, Arrow‘s own season finale has already gone in front of cameras.
Actually, it wasn’t that long ago when Stephen Amell revealed to his fans on social media that the script for said finale made the hair on his arms stand on edge. Now, he’s taken to Twitter with this statement:
“Our Season Finale is slowly sucking the life out of me. (In the best possible way.)”
By that, I’m sure he means that while he’s being physically and mentally drained by what is no doubt a grueling filmmaking process, he knows it’ll all be worth it in the end. After shooting this series for a number of years, he knows the consequences, yet also knows the great rewards.
Of course, we can only imagine what’ll go down in the finale, but my gut tells me this business with Emiko Queen, Dante and the Ninth Circle will reach a crescendo. Odds are series stalwart Emily Bett Rickards is making her exit in the episode preceding that (7×21) because Amell has already mentioned how he’s filmed his last scene with the Felicity character.
Arrow returns with new episodes on Monday, April 15th on The CW.
