The Internet Has Mixed Thoughts On The New Avengers: Endgame Costumes

If you’ve been keeping track of the various leaked Avengers: Endgame promo art and merchandise that’s been making the rounds online in recent months, then chances are you’ve already caught a few glimpses of the latest costumes for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. But with an official image of the team finally being released last night courtesy of the Orville Redenbacher popcorn brand, the new suits were exposed to their widest audience to date, and as it turns out, not everyone is entirely sold on the designs just yet.

Just as any of us would probably look pretty ridiculous walking down the street or riding the subway in a spandex outfit, fans may well find that the new looks work better when viewed within the intended context of the film itself, rather than in a heavily Photoshopped image created to sell popcorn. For now, however, some social media users apparently have a few objections, and haven’t been shy about sharing them:

While all six of the Phase 1 Avengers have undergone a change in style, the new look of Hulk in particular marks a significant departure from how we’ve seen him previously. And while some are taking the latest photo as a sign that Endgame is about to bring us the Professor Hulk persona from the comics, others just think he looks a bit silly:

Of course, given all the hype that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel has already generated, it’s going to take a lot more than one promo image to dull the enthusiasm of most fans, especially when the recent TV spot received such a strong response. Regardless, we’ll find out if Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can pull off the new getups when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
