Rising from the grave once again this year was Capcom’s genre-defining survival horror franchise, kicking off 2019 in gruesome fashion with a remake of Resident Evil 2, which was an an incredible blood-splattered love-letter to the fanbase and also a perfect entry point to those late to the undead party.
Devilishly terrifying and thrilling to play, the game is pure survival horror retro-fitted for a modern audience. There’s just one problem with it though, and that’s that it isn’t available on Nintendo Switch, leaving a good chunk of people out in the cold and unable to play it.
Fear not, though, as Capcom hasn’t forgotten about The Big N. Last year, they announced that they’d be bringing Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 to the platform in 2019 and now, the developer has teased us that news on these releases is coming soon.
Hopping on Twitter, Capcom said that they’ll have more details on what they’re planning at the end of February, and given that it’s already the 23rd, that means we should receive some news this coming week. So, if you’re a fan of Resident Evil, you might want to keep your eye out over the coming days.
After all, playing Resident Evil 4 from the comfort of your bed on a handheld is an experience that not many would pass up and we’re sure that Capcom has some exciting things in store for Nintendo Switch owners.
