Odd as I found the creative decision to wrap up Trigon’s arc during the early part of season 2, I won’t deny how Titans posted a terrific debut with its first eleven episodes. That said, I don’t think it’s too soon to begin discussing who else will show up soon enough.
As you may have heard, we’re supposed to be introduced to a new take on Deathstroke during the sophomore run as it’ll adapt the classic “Judas Contract” arc. And though said story has already been translated to an animated movie, seeing it in live action will be a different experience entirely.
Keep that in mind while you read the following casting call posted on Facebook, which is undoubtedly looking to fill the role of Jericho:
LOOKING FOR DEAF ACTORS! “I’m the Casting Associate on season 2 of the DC superhero series TITANS, and we recently released the below breakdown. Because of the context of the role, we would really like to look for actors who are deaf or hard of hearing, and are fluent in ASL. ROLE: Male, 21-24, Mixed Latino or Mixed Asian. As a young boy, Max was a kind-hearted soul who never measured up to the expectations of his domineering military father. Bullied by his peers, he retreated even further inward. He’s a misfit who’s always longed for acceptance and love, but never found it, always suffering betrayal by those he dared to believe in most. As a result, he’s grown into a young man who now longs to inflict pain on all those who have caused him pain… 7/13 SERIES REGULAR… PLEASE ALSO SUBMIT ACTORS WHO ARE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING, AND NOTE ANY ACTORS WHO ARE FLUENT IN ASL.
Originally, I’d wondered if the new version of Deathstroke would be one of his kids, but reading about this “domineering military father” may put the the kibosh on that suspicion. Other possibilities would include an all-new costume or avoiding using the “Slade Wilson” name, but we can’t be too sure of what restrictions WB’s motion picture division have placed on this particular production.
But seeing as how Jericho heavily factored into the source material, his inclusion in Titans season 2 would make a lot of sense. As of right now, it’s expected that the saga resume sometime in early 2020. In the meantime, you can relive all previously released episodes on the DC Universe streaming service.
