The Flash Dropped A Big Batman Easter Egg Last Night

When I tuned in for The Flash‘s midseason premiere last night, the last thing I was expecting was a reference to Batman. But lo and behold, we actually received one. I guess with the “Elseworlds” crossover now behind us, it’s very possible we’ll get more subtle hints to the legacy left behind by the Arrowverse’s absentee Dark Knight.

Had you checked out “The Flash & The Furious” for yourself, then you should remember how Silver Ghost and Weather Witch boosted a car from ARGUS that was said to have some Wayne Tech goodies under its hood. Of course, this causes us all to think of the Batmobile, even though this particular vehicle wasn’t the genuine article.

Still, it should be noted how that baby could travel at high speeds and even turn invisible, so that definitely sounds like features Batman would’ve implemented on his own car. But since there wasn’t really anything visually “Batty” about the car – not to mention the fact that it got destroyed – it was likely a prototype at best.

Actually, this should get us thinking about how Batwoman will travel around Gotham City once her solo series launches. Normally, I picture her riding a motorcycle, though we can’t rule out the producers gifting her a Batmobile of her own. If not, then we can probably blame it on the red tape separating WB’s motion picture and television divisions.

Speculation aside, there’s one thing we can count on, and that’s next week’s episode being a must-see. So far, various promo materials have virtually guaranteed Nora getting her back broken by Cicada, including the official synopsis:

CICADA SEVERELY INJURES NORA

During a battle with Cicada (Chris Klein), Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) is severely injured. Due to Cicada’s dampening powers, Nora’s speed healing isn’t working, leaving Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) scared for their daughter’s future. Upset about his injured child, The Flash is filled with rage and confronts Cicada in a brutal battle. Meanwhile, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) keeps interfering with Caitlin’s work on the cure.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
