John Wick: Chapter 2 wasn’t a perfect sequel, but it still managed to build significantly on the world and story introduced by the first movie while also going bigger in every way imaginable, boasting a larger budget, a longer runtime and a much higher body count. And seeing how things ended with the titular hero on the kill list of almost the entire global assassin community, it doesn’t seem likely that director Chad Stahelski plans to scale things down for John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
In fact, in a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that the third movie’s kill count will “land slightly north” of the corresponding figure for the last outing, and if Parabellum‘s first trailer – seen above – is anything to go by, it certainly seems like we’re in for another violent, action-packed ride, as Reeves returns to the role and looks more than happy to dish out a healthy dose of pain on anyone who gets in his way.
