Official Title Of Disney’s Scarlet Witch TV Series Revealed

Where do Marvel characters go when they die? Apparently they make the jump to Disney Plus, where such Avengers: Infinity War fatalities as Loki, Bucky Barnes, and Sam Wilson are all set to star in their own shows, albeit with the latter two buddying up. And then, of course, there’s Scarlet Witch, who suffered the same death by dusting as her peers, but was among the first of the MCU inhabitants to have her TV series announced.

Now it seems that we have a title for this small screen saga, and apparently Wanda Maximoff may have to share her billing with another familiar and seemingly deceased figure. According to a new Deadline report, the Marvel spinoff series will be called Vision and the Scarlet Witch.

This title fits right in line with previous reports that Paul Bettany’s character will be playing a prominent role in the show, though you may not have thought it would be this prominent. Assuming the name is legit, you can expect the series to take some inspiration from the Marvel Comics series The Vision and the Scarlet Witch, which had two limited runs in the ‘80s.

Of course, as with every other Marvel show that’s headed for Disney’s planned streaming service, the question is raised of how these leads are still alive. And since Infinity War co-director Joe Russo confirmed earlier this week that Vision is indeed dead, that presumably leaves us with the possibilities that either this series is set earlier in the MCU timeline, or the character’s death will somehow be reversed, just like the victims of Thanos’ snap.

Evidently, there’s still much to be learned about Vision and the Scarlet Witch, but you can bet that Avengers 4 will provide a whole load of context when it hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
