Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Star Chloe Bennet Currently Battling COVID-19

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Star Chloe Bennet Currently Battling COVID-19

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., star Chloe Bennet has revealed this week that she’s currently battling COVID-19. Taking to her Instagram account, the actress shared that she got sick on Christmas and shortly after she tested positive for the virus. And suffice it to say, it hasn’t been an easy time for her these last few days.

Here’s her update in full:

“Hey haven’t been on here for a little, wanted to give an update… On Christmas morning I woke up with a high fever, and unable to breathe. I got tested, and I’m positive for COVID-19 … it’s been a rough week to say the least. Multiple members of my family are also infected, we’ve all been battling it out together. We’re still not in the clear, but as of now we’re doing…okay.”

“I’m sharing this because I want to iterate to anyone who still may not be taking covid seriously, please please please f****** do. Copied sucks. It just really sucks,” she continued. “I pride myself on staying healthy, I always wore a mask, social distanced, and took all the necessary precautions and I still got VERY sick. And I’m one of the lucky ones. I repeat! I’m young, healthy, and diligent about my health and this virus still knocked me the **** down and continues to do so. Even trying to just write this out is proving to be exhausting.”

“So I guess I’m on here just trying to remind anyone whose reading this, that yes 2020 is coming to an end, but this pandemic is still raging on, and if you can don’t let up. Stay distant, stay safe, wear a mask,” Bennet added. “On that note, I love you guys, stay healthy, and happy (almost) new year. X CB. P.S. **** you 2020, I can’t wait to not be in you.”

Of course, Bennet is far from the first high profile celebrity to test positive for COVID-19 and unfortunately, she probably won’t be the last. Indeed, as the virus continues to wind its way throughout the globe, more and more famous faces are coming down with it. And though the actress seems to be having a hard time fighting it, with any luck, she’ll be back on her feet soon enough.

After all, fans are eager to see Bennet make the jump to the MCU proper now that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is wrapped up, with countless rumors and reports pointing to her character Quake having a future ahead of her. Indeed, she’s seemingly a perfect fit for the Secret Invasion show that’s set for Disney Plus, while there are several other upcoming projects that she could slot into easily as well.

But for now, the focus is clearly on the actress making a full recovery and fighting off COVID-19. After that, though, hopefully Marvel will listen to the fans and bring the popular Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star on board for some of their future films and TV series. Fingers crossed.

Tell us, though, where would you like to see Quake show up next in the MCU? Sound off down below in the usual place with your thoughts and as always, watch this space for more.

Baby Yoda Will Reportedly Get His Own Lightsaber In The Mandalorian

Baby Yoda Will Reportedly Get His Own Lightsaber In The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian Season 2 concluded with an unexpected twist which had fans wondering how Jon Favreau would continue to chronicle the story of the bounty hunter Din Djarin and his ward Baby Grogu.

The show had been building towards that monumental ending for some time. In fact, for almost two seasons, we had seen the Child perform seemingly impossible tasks with the Force. And as is the case with all talented individuals in Star Wars, he needed special training to be able to focus his abilities and protect himself. Though as Ahsoka revealed in “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” Grogu has the potential to the Dark Side under the wrong circumstances, the same fate that befell Anakin Skywalker two decades prior to the events of the show. But now that he is in the hands of Luke Skywalker, it’s safe to say that he’ll turn out differently, notwithstanding the Jedi Master’s failure with Ben Solo, of course.

Right now, the real question is how Baby Yoda and Mando will be reunited in future seasons. Fans have proposed a number of scenarios as to how that could play out, but a recent report by Daniel Richtman, who shared the scoop on his Patreon page, says that Grogu will be back in the guise of a trained Jedi, wielding his very own lightsaber, no less.

It wouldn’t come as a shock if the series decided to take a time jump between season 2 and season 3. What that means for the Child, specifically, is anyone’s guess at this point. Though we can expect him to grow up and look different, perhaps more similarly resembling Master Yoda from the Skywalker Saga.

Tell us, though, what do you expect to see next from Din Djarin and Grogu in The Mandalorian Season 3? Sound off in the usual place below.

The Internet Is Loving Samuel L. Jackson’s New Netflix Movie

The Internet Is Loving Samuel L. Jacksonโ€™s New Netflix Movie

Samuel L. Jackson’s latest movie is going down a storm online. 2020 has often been described as a Black Mirror episode come to life, and while Netflix didn’t offer up a new episode of the sci-fi anthology show, creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones did produce Death to 2020, a tongue-in-cheek mockumentary that looks back at the apocalyptic events of the past year.

The 70-minute special features a range of famous faces, including the MCU star, who plays a New York journalist in the Laurence Fishburne-narrated dark comedy. Other major names who appear alongside him in talking head segments include Hugh Grant as an eccentric historian, Lisa Kudrow as a conservative spokeswoman, Leslie Jones as an anti-social behavior psychologist, Joe Keery as a YouTube personality and Cristin Milioti as a stereotypical “Karen.”

Critics have been pretty stuffy about it, but Twitter users seem to have fallen in love with Death to 2020 since it dropped on the streaming giant on December 27th. And here’s just a flavor of the praise going around on social media.

The most hilarious thing 2020’s given us.

Jackson’s segments definitely didn’t hold back.

See?

Milioti was terrific, too.

Not to mention Kudrow.

And Hugh Grant, with his Game of Thrones gags.

“Sheer brilliance.”

Outstanding!

The credits even found time to squeeze in an extra slice of Jackson. And he’s never been so relatable.

Samuel L. Jackson Death to 2020

2020 was a slim year for new releases for the star, but that’s not the case for 2021. Samuel L. Jackson has got three major movies due out soon – crime thriller The Asset co-starring Michael Keaton and Maggie Q, flashy Saw reboot Spiral and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel to the 2017 action-comedy also featuring Ryan Reynolds and Salma Hayek. He’s set to reprise Nick Fury in Marvel’s Secret Invasion TV series as well, which is in development now.

Tell us, though, have you caught Death to 2020 on Netflix yet? If so, did you enjoy it? Share your reactions in the comments section down below.

Disney Reportedly Wants Harrison Ford For Indiana Jones Streaming Show

Disney Reportedly Wants Harrison Ford For Indiana Jones Streaming Show

Incredibly, Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to start shooting in the spring as confirmed by longtime series producer Frank Marshall at the recent Disney Investor Day, and as of now, the final installment in the beloved franchise is still tentatively penciled in to hit theaters in July 2022, which is a very tight window for a project of such scale.

After all, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull came armed with a budget of $185 million and spent four months filming. Indy 5, meanwhile, is presumably going to be even more expensive, while leading man Harrison Ford is a dozen years older and the last we heard, the movie doesn’t even have a completed script yet as all of the key players continue to disagree over the tone, which is par for the course at this stage.

Indiana Jones 5 was also confirmed to be the last entry in the saga, with Marshall making it clear that as long as he’s around, nobody else will ever play the adventurous archeologist other than the legendary Ford. Steven Spielberg may be sitting the next one out having steered the ship for close to 40 years, but while fans will just about forgive a change in director, recasting the leading man is tantamount to sacrilege.

Thankfully, then, it seems that the fifth outing may not be the last we see of the actor in the role, as insider Daniel Richtman claims that Disney wants Ford to appear in a series that’s being developed for their streaming service. Further details are unclear and the tipster doesn’t say if it’s an all-new show or a reboot of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, but as one of the Mouse House’s most valuable assets, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they wanted to continue mining the property once Indiana Jones 5 wraps up the big screen stories for good.

WB Reportedly Wants Wonder Woman 3 To Be More Like Aquaman

WB Reportedly Wants Wonder Woman 3 To Be More Like Aquaman

Trying to gauge the success of Wonder Woman 1984 is proving a lot more difficult than usual given the circumstances surrounding the superhero sequel’s release. Diana Prince’s second solo outing may have scored the biggest opening weekend at the domestic box office since March, but by any metrics, $16.7 million isn’t going to recoup a budget of $200 million, especially when the movie’s international performance hasn’t been great, either, with just over $68 million in the coffers after two weeks.

Wonder Woman 1984 will have no doubt resulted in a massive surge in HBO Max subscriber numbers, but the streaming service is only available in the United States, so it seems very unlikely that the latest installment in the DCEU is going to come anywhere close to turning a substantial profit for Warner Bros.

Of course, it hasn’t helped that the reactions have been incredibly polarized, too. Many are praising the visual aesthetic and the pervasive optimism running through the narrative, but there’ve also been some serious criticisms over the myriad of huge plot holes and the questionable storytelling device used to bring back Steve Trevor, which gets weirder the more you think about it.

The studio may have fast-tracked Wonder Woman 3 into development just two days after 1984 was released, but insider Daniel Richtman now claims that the higher-ups are pushing for Jenkins and Gadot to change things up a bit and make the next one more like Aquaman and similar to a “big fantasy movie,” which is a pretty vague descriptor but also gives you a good idea of what the executives are reportedly after.

Aquaman was big, loud, stupid, cheesy escapist entertainment, with James Wan’s refusal to take anything too seriously ultimately benefiting the film, and while Wonder Woman 1984 is most definitely an epic fantasy played out on a huge scale, if Richtman’s word is to be taken at face value, it clearly didn’t tick all of the boxes for Warner Bros.
